Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture

- a natural, non-toxic, anti-ageing treatment for your skin -

Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture is a natural, non-toxic, anti-ageing treatment known to be highly effective in addressing fine lines, wrinkles and other skin issues.

My approach is constitutional, meaning that body points will also be included during the session, as in Chinese Medicine skin issues often arise from internal organ imbalances. Therefore when the health and wellbeing improves, the skin does too.

From a scientific point of view, when the needles are inserted, the fibroblast cells are stimulated and this enhances the production of collagen and elastin, two important proteins that naturally reduce as we age.

Needles are inserted in the ears, body and face.

During a treatment other tools can be used in conjunction to acupuncture, such as: Gua Sha, crystal roller, cupping, facial massage, medical micro-needling, natural skincare.

Specific benefits

At a skin level:

At a body + mind level:

How many treatments will I need? When will I see some results?

Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture isn’t a quick fix. The skin is all of a sudden awakened from a long “sleep” and now fresh blood and oxygen is supplying the face. The goal is to create sustainable long term changes, both for your skin and your body.

The Magic of 3 Months:

  • A plant needs 3 months to reach maturity and produce fruit;
  • 3 months are needed to make changes to a woman’s menstrual cycle;
  • 3 months are needed for a significant wound to heal.

You can see some improvement after only one treatment, however it is recommended to do 10-12 weekly treatments over a period of 3 months to see optimal result.

Are there any side effects after treatment?

Temporary localized bruising may occur, this will fade in a few days.

Are there any contraindications?

These are the following contraindications for facial acupuncture:

  • Epilepsy;
  • Pregnancy or trying to conceive;
  • Microdermabrasion / chemical peel: wait 1 month;
  • Laser: 1 month;
  • Botox: 6 weeks.
